About us

Founded in 2021 and officially registered in June 2025, Ileni Agrosolutions & Consultancy CC is a 100% Namibian, woman-owned enterprise driven by a mission to transform agricultural and indigenous foods into nutritious, safe, and marketable products.

Our work promotes sustainable food systems, enhances nutrition, reduces post-harvest losses, and creates economic opportunities for farmers, MSMEs, youth, and women.

We align our work with Namibia’s Vision 2030, NDP6, the Harambee Prosperity Plan, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to contribute to national food security and agro-industrial growth.

The founder

Joan Pashu Pohamba, a dedicated Food Scientist, brings over a decade of expertise in food safety, laboratory accreditation (ISO 17025), agro-processing, product development, and nutrition. She holds a Master of Science in Nutrition and Food Science from Louisiana State University (USA) sponsored through the American Fulbright program, a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Molecular & Physiological Biology from the University of Namibia, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from the Namibian Business School.

Her career spans key roles, including Food Microbiologist at the Namibian Standards Institution, Programme Policy Officer at the UN World Food Programme, and Food Scientist Freelancer Consultant. During her tenure with the UN World Food Programme, Joan led projects that reached and empowered more than 2,000 Namibians—farmers, women, youth, and vulnerable communities—through nutrition education, value addition, and agro-processing initiatives.
